Chiron goes quiet, and the real work begins

The retrograde that actually matters
Chiron turned retrograde in Aries, and this is the one to watch.
Not because it's dramatic. It's not. Chiron retrograde is quiet in the way that a slow leak is quiet, you don't notice until the tire is flat. What it does is turn the wound inward, specifically the Aries wound: the one about self-assertion, about whether you have the right to take up space, to act first, to be the one who starts things. Chiron in Aries has been pressing on that bruise since 2018. The retrograde phase, which runs until late January 2027 (121 days from September 6th), asks you to stop performing recovery and actually do it.
The last time Chiron stationed retrograde was July 29th, 2025. Think about what came up for you then, not necessarily in a dramatic way, but what old pattern resurfaced, what old voice got louder. That's probably still the thread. Retrogrades in slow-moving bodies don't reset the question, they just turn down the noise so you can hear your own answer.
If your Aries placements sit in the first house, this hits your identity directly. Seventh house? It's showing up in how you give ground to other people, maybe too much, maybe reflexively. But honestly, most people will feel this as a general quieting of urgency, a moment where the pressure to prove something eases just enough to ask why you felt that pressure in the first place.
This is actually a good window. Not comfortable, but genuinely useful. Chiron retrograde is one of the few transits where going slower on self-promotion, on launching, on asserting yourself in new arenas, is the strategically sound move. Not because the universe punishes boldness. Just because you'll make better decisions about what to assert when you've sat with the question a little longer.
A rare background hum worth knowing about
The Neptune-Pluto sextile is the kind of thing that sounds important and is mostly invisible in daily life, but it's worth naming because it's genuinely rare. These two haven't been in a clean sextile since March 15th, 2019, and they won't hit exact until May 9th, 2029. What you're in right now is the long, slow approach, an aspect building across years, not days.
It won't make your Tuesday feel different. But it does describe the larger current that the smaller transits are swimming in: a period where the structures people thought were permanent (Pluto) are becoming porous, and where that dissolution (Neptune) doesn't only feel like loss. Something is being quietly rebuilt at a level most people can't point to directly. If you've had a sense recently that your relationship to ambition, or power, or what you actually want your life to look like is shifting without you quite deciding to shift it, that's probably this. Slow and tectonic, not loud.
And today, just for a moment
The Sun-Moon sextile peaks today, September 6th, at 2:00 PM. It's a minor aspect, orb already past 1 degree, and it's gone by tomorrow. But a Sun-Moon sextile is a small gift: your conscious intentions and your emotional instincts are briefly pulling in the same direction instead of arguing. That doesn't happen as often as you'd think.
Use the afternoon. Not for anything monumental, just for the thing you've been putting off because it felt like the timing was off. The timing, for a few hours, is fine.
